OPTIONS

Riders will have three route options, two timed race routes (80 miles and 55 miles) and one untimed recreational route.

TIMING

All riders competing in the race route categories must STOP at the timing table at the finish line to ensure that their time is properly noted. In addition:

  • All riders on the 80-mile route must check in at the Stewart Cabin aid station (mile 45).

  • All riders on the 55-mile route must check in at the Stratton Gap aid station (mile 26).

AWARDS

Everyone who completes one of the routes will be presented with a finisher award at the finish line regardless of distance or time. Podium awards for the 80-mile and 55-mile race routes will be presented for the lowest time (1st, 2nd & 3rd) in the following categories: Men's Open, Women's Open, Men's Masters, Women's Masters, Single Speed.

NAVIGATION

The routes will NOT be marked. It is therefore imperative that you download the routes before you arrive at the event by clicking on the maps below. If you're planning to ride the 80-mile route, please also download the 55-mile route in case you miss the cut-off time or need to bail out due to a mechanical or tired legs. 

80 MILES

9,400 Feet of Climbing | 65% Asphalt

This 80-mile timed race route takes you from Tennessee's Cherokee National Forest into North Carolina's Nantahala National Forest and includes both the North River gravel climb (12 miles) and the Old Santeetlah gravel climb (10 miles). Expect big views, beautiful climbs and fun descents! 

  • Riders must reach the aid station at mile 26 by 11:30 or they will be directed to finish using the 55-mile route. No exceptions. 

  • Aid stations with nutrition and hydration will be available at mile 16, 26, 45, 53 and 70

55 MILES

5,700 Feet of Climbing | 70% Asphalt

This 55-mile timed race route takes you to the North Carolina border via the 12-mile North River gravel climb before dropping you back down into Tennessee on the Cherohala Skyway. As with the 80-mile route, this route is packed with beautiful scenery, stunning views and fast descents! 

  • Aid stations with nutrition and hydration will be available at mile 16, 26 and 39

25 MILES

2,100 Feet of Climbing | 100% Asphalt

This 25-mile untimed, fully paved recreational route takes you to along the Tellico River Road to the 90-foot Bald River Falls before looping back to Tellico Plains. Though short, this route still has plenty of hills to tackle on your way to the finish line! 

  • An aid station with nutrition and hydration will be available at mile 14
